A fine large format costume plate book with attractive plates, each with expianatory text page in French and English. Included are also depictions of the costumes of people from Lapland, Finland and Estonia. This was the fourth title (Turkey and China) in a series of costume books, issued by William Miller, starting in 1803. The plates for this book are somewhat enlarged copies, from a book by J.G.
